Hebelwerk — Help

Getting started and answers.

In the editor, the ? button explains each command in two sentences. Here are the questions that go beyond that.

First steps
  1. Open the editor and draw a four-bar linkage without creating an account: frame, two cranks, link.
  2. Set the drive and start the simulation. Display the trajectory and transmission angle.
  3. Apply a load to the coupling and observe the bearing reactions.
  4. Identify bolts at a joint and generate the report.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install anything?

No. Hebelwerk runs in the browser. On Android, it can be saved as an app and will then continue to work even without an internet connection.

Three-dimensional or flat?

Exactly. Most booms and hoisting mechanisms are plane-based problems, and that’s what this tool is designed for. Collisions are also checked in terms of planes, using construction planes.

Does it perform dynamic calculations?

Quasi-static. Inertial forces can be applied; the time simulation is based on oil volume and rotational speed. Impact and vibration are not included.

Can I reuse the result?

Yes. DXF for CAD, Excel with real formulas, CSV for your own analyses, and a report as a printout.

In English?

The interface and report are available in German and English.

Is that finished?

Hebelwerk It is constantly being expanded; each version is checked against the same test suite before release. New additions can be found under ‘What’s New’ at Hebelwerk. Errors can be reported directly from within the programme.

Does ‘Hebelwerk’ run on a server?

No. All calculations are carried out in the browser on your device. The account storage only saves your models if you choose to do so.

How do I report a problem?

In the editor, click ‘Report a problem’. The model will be attached along with your description; you’ll be able to see what’s being sent beforehand.

Can I generate the report with my own company data in the header?

Yes, at the business level. The company name, address, company logo, person responsible and reviewer are shown on every page. The project number, client, reviewer and model revision are shown on the sheet at every level.

Is there an app called ‘Hebelwerk’?
